Take a Class with Alaska Geographic
Our hands-on courses are set in Alaska’s wildest classrooms – our spectacular national parks, forests, and refuges. Accredited by the University of Alaska, courses are designed for adults, families, and teachers. Courses range from two to eight days and are held throughout the state.
Field Seminars are an immersion into Alaska’s natural world, exploring the vast ecosystems and vibrant cultures of the far north. Teacher Trainings are designed to give teachers tools to connect Alaska’s wilderness to a classroom setting.
All courses are active learning experiences, but each one is custom-designed and unique. Some involve hiking between two and five miles, while others are based out of kayaks, charter boats, or the Alaska state ferry. Most meals, lodging, equipment, and transportation are provided. Courses in Denali National Park are offered through the Murie Science and Learning Center. Alaska Geographic offers classes developed in full partnership with the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
