The Member and Customer Services Associate plays a key role in representing Alaska Geographic to the general public and our members by maintaining the daily needs of the membership program and providing mail order customer service and fulfillment. A friendly and professional demeanor is essential and the ability to juggle multiple duties, tasks, and priorities is required.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Member and Customer Services Associate provides a critical service function as a member of the Anchorage Central Office staff by performing a variety of mail order and membership program maintenance functions. She/he is required to:

  • Process memberships and donations received via mail, web, and field sites using a dedicated database management system
  • Create and mail membership renewal notices, fulfillments, and appeals
  • Maintain adequate levels of membership materials, including premiums
  • Provide membership recruitment materials for field sites
  • Process and fulfill website & telephone product orders
  • Answer customer inquires regarding website & phone orders
  • Maintain web store content in coordination with webmaster and Sales Department
  • Manage web store product inventory
  • Reorder/transfer inventory in coordination with the Sales Department
  • Prepare weekly deposits for membership & sales
  • Maintain databases for both mail order and membership programs
  • Maintain physical filing systems of membership and mail order information
  • Respond to field requests for information and assistance
  • Manage office mail functions, both incoming and outgoing
  • Greet, welcome, and assist visitors when sitting at front desk
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Experience in order fulfillment, data entry and customer service
  • Experience in using standard word processing, excel spreadsheets & database software and ability to type 45 wpm
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work as a team member and operate effectively under pressure
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Wages & Benefits

Full-time, year-round position.
Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with a scheduled lunch break.
Occasional overtime work may be required.
$13.00 to $15.00 per hour depending upon experience, includes a full benefits package.
