Family Field Seminars See Alaska through the eyes of your child

Reconnect with the natural world and with one another on a Family Field Seminar, designed specifically for families with young children. Our instructors are expert naturalists who will engage and inspire you and your children. We take care of the details like lodging, transportation, and meals so you can focus on your time together as a family.
All of our Family Field Seminars explore the forests, tundra, and habitat of Denali National Park. Family Field Seminars are offered through the Murie Science and Learning Center, the gateway to Alaska’s eight northernmost national parks.
Beginning at the frontcountry campus of the Murie Science and Learning Center, spend your days in Denali National Park and your nights in shared tent cabins at the Center’s rustic field camp. Located 29 miles inside the Park and along the Teklanika River, this is a spectacular location from which to explore Denali’s diverse ecosystems. The field camp includes tent cabins and a gathering yurt. Each tent cabin sleeps four people on platform beds with mattresses. Family-style meals are simple, hearty, and healthy.
Hiking Distances and Physical Fitness Everyone in the family must be a capable walker, in good health, and equipped for sudden changes in weather. Hiking distance and physical fitness levels are described in greater detail for each course. |
