Ecology of Migratory Birds Denali National Park & Preserve August 24-27 $360 (10% member discount)

Venture into the Wonder Lake region to witness Denali’s bird migration. Ornithologist Dr. Carol McIntyre will lead you through forests, ridges, and wetlands while exploring the behavior, ecology, and conservation of migratory birds.
Space Available 10 spaces will be available when registration opens on January 6, 2009.
Accreditation The University of Alaska Anchorage offers one professional development credit (level 500) for an additional $69 fee. The 10% member discount does not apply to the credit fees.
Times and Location Participants meet at the Murie Science and Learning Center, located at mile 1 of the Park Road. This course begins at 12:00 pm on the first day and ends at 4:00 pm on the last day.
Hiking Distances and Physical Fitness Field Seminars are active learning experiences. Participants must be capable walkers, in good health, and equipped for sudden changes in weather. This course includes up to six miles of hiking and/or 2,000 foot elevation gain per day, frequently over rough and steep terrain.
Lodging and Meals This course is based out of the Murie Science and Learning Center and the Wonder Lake area at mile 85 of the Park Road. Accommodations are in shared camping tents, with no electricity or plumbing available. Family-style meals are simple and healthy. Participants bring their own sleeping bags and sleeping pads.
