Telaquana Trail Guide

Lake Clark National Park and Preserve

Price: $3.00
Member price: $2.55

This fold-out brochure provides planning information for the Telaquana Trail, an historic 50-mile route that runs through the heart of Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. In use for centuries, the trail traverses the foothill lakes region of the park, an area where deep lakes carved by glaciers lie with their heads against high mountains and their outlets in the rolling plains of the interior. The route begins on the north shore of Lake Clark near the historic Dena'ina Athabaskan village of Kijik and ends near the Old Village at Telaquana Lake. This traditional travel corridor passes through boreal forests, fords glacial rivers, winds through mountain passes, and crosses fragile alpine tundra as it skirts the western flank of the mighty Alaska Range.
