To commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act, this re-issue of the award-winning classic, This Last Treasure: Alaska National Parklands, features a new design that showcases vivid photography from all fifteen of Alaska's magnificent national parklands, including historical images captured by Robert Belous.

The new edition stays true to its origin as a lyrical anthology of writings by many who have experienced the grandeur for themselves, and puts these lands into the context of history. President Jimmy Carter contributed a preface for the 2005 release in honor of the historic land conservation act that bears his signature.

"More than a coffee-table book" - February 27, 2009
I bought this book as a gift, but ended up keeping it because it is simply a book you would want to own! The selection of photos and quotations is superb. The descriptions of the different parks is informative, yet written in such a poetic way. I love this book, and want to recommend this to all who treasure Alaska's wild lands.
